Coyotes started off by beating Naz #5 2-1, score could have been higher but still the Coyotes prevailed.

December 10, 2023

This was the day that the acadamy players were looking forward to, AWARDS!! With the assistance of Rasa a cheerful event was put together in the main hall at the Lithuanian World Center. The kids had to wait impatiently as everyone enjoyed the companionship of fellow soccer families.

Each team was called to the stage and awards for highest scorer, most improved player and the MVP were announced and medals awarded. The Werewolves were also awarded trophies for their 1st place finish in the NISL Fall league.

Congratulations to all the players especially to those that had a special recognition.

November 12, 2023

The Wolves have finished off the outdoor season with a victory over The South Side Elite by a score of 9-6. The elite pur up a better fight on their home turf then they did last week at ours; but our Wolves still prevailed. Great job! They finish in 3rd place with 13 points (and even tough not all the teams have finished and/or reported their scores the Wolves will not change position).

The Werewolves finish in 1st with 20 points and no losses (2 draws). A dominating peformance.

And our Coyotes finish in 5th with 7 points missing out on 4th because of goal differential tie breaker.

Once again great work from all our teans and time to celebrate on Dec 10th. See you then,

And finally here is looking forward to a great Futsal season at Naz.

Let's not forget about the Men's team. They finish the season in 6th place. check out the final standings over on the Men's page.

November 5, 2023

The Werewolves finished off the season with a resounding 9-0 victory over IE-Lockport 14/13 Maroon. It was just too easy but a nice way to dominate the division. We are Number One!!!

Pics (thanks Vilma and Nidas)

Video (Thanks Nidas for the video clips)

Then the Coyotes powered their way to a victory over South Side Elite FC 2015 8-3. Gerardas was a one man scoring machine with 5 goals. Of course the Coyotes couldn't finish off the season without managing to get a yellow card called against the team because of the parents (hah) and this is the time the parents were well-behaved (relatively speaking :-) ).

And finally the Wolves made it a clean sweep today beating The South Side Elite FC 2013 7-1. Great performance.

October 29, 2023

The Wolves played Inter AC 2013 Select Blue yesterday and unfortunately ended up losing 9-3. The team started off the game very well but then started having difficulties. Per Coach Gvidas: "We know where we need to be better".

The Werewolves played Gremio FC 2012 Select on a cold and miseravble day and ended up with a 2-2- tie.

October 22, 2023

Well the Coyotes had a second game for the weekend schedules today but have had to take a forfeit because of an erroneous address given out to the parents.

October 21, 2023

Wolves had a great game beating E-Lockport 13/14 Maroon 7-3. Second win of the season!

Update: Coyotes beat Chivas Academy Chicago 6-4, yeah!!

October 17, 2023

Time to catch up on the Men's team. They had a 1-1 draw with Das Magic this sunday. There have been a number of wins due to the other team forfeiting. Sitting in 7th place with 20 points but a few victories could move them up the standings.

October 14, 2023

Today's Wolves game at South Side Elite FC 2013 was cancelled because of poor field conditions. The home team makes the call in these situations.

The Coyotes played CUPSA 2015 in a morning game. Unfortunatelt they lost 7-1.

October 14, 2023

Blustery fall soccer weather is here. The Coyotes didn't take advantage and lost to ROMA FC 2015 Blue 1*3; however the Werewqolve beat ROMA FC 2012 Blue 4-1 maintaining their grip on first place.

October 8, 2023

The Werewolves got off to a slow start but got it going quickly and beat the IE-Dragons 10-3. Good game! Keeps us in first place. Go Liths!!

October 7, 2023

Great news!! The wolves finally won a game. They beat the Roadrunners SC B2013 Silver 7-2. They needed some assistance but it was a great win.

October 1, 2023

Well after yesterdays loss by the Wolves it was looking glum, but the Werewolve put the joy back into everyone. They handily beat Gremio FC 2012 Select 10-1. Fantastic!

September 30, 2023

Wolves had a bad day and lost 8-2 to Inter AC 2013 Select Blue. Not a good game so it's time to regroup for the next game.

September 24, 2023

The day started off with the Wolves ending up with a 5 -5 draw against IE-Lockport 13/14 Maroon.

Then the Werewolves put on a clinic beating IE-Lockport 12/13 Maroon 9-1

The Coyotes took on the chin losing 7-2 against Chivac Academy. A bright spot was Gerardas scoring an awesome goal that went over the goalie into the net.

In an evening game the Men's team lost to FK Nikola Tesla 7-0.

September 17, 2023

Yesterday the Coyotes played Roma FC to a 4-4 draw. The team had scored 5 but lost a goal because of an offsides call.

Today's Werewolves game has beed canceled due to inclement weather, will be rescheduled.

The Men's team match against Real Eagles FC has also been canceled. Update!! Game was played and we won!

And then the Wolves game getrs canceled because the league didn't have a ref availavle, game has been rescheduled for Nov 5th at 2 pm.

September 10, 2023

The Werewolves played Roma FC today and in a hard fought battle ended up with a 5-5 draw. Overall e were the better team but had a few defensive struggles, Marty played great in the goal making some great saves, Matuez was outstanding, scoring a couple of nice goals and help keep the offensive flow going. Jakuba shined on defensive and feisty, little Nedas kept Roma on thier toes.

Werewolves Fall 2023 Edition

Over on the Men's side they continue to have game postponments. Hopefully they get next week's game in.

September 9, 2023

The fall season for the Little Liths has started and the Coyotes got off on a bad note losing 7-1 to Tesla. In spite of it not being a good game Matas as goalie did have some good saves. Klaudius and Kristopas also shared duties in goal.

Coyotes, Fall 2023 edition

The Wolves had a late start because they had an incorrect address for the game, once that was straightened out it was game on. Unfortunately the wolves didn't fare that well and lost to the Strikers FV 6-2. The team played well but were shorthanded and needed subs. Mantas and Luca provided the goals for the team.

Wolves, Fall 2023 Edition

August 14, 2023

Current news on the Men's team:

On August 2nd they played the CKS Warta Reserves and ended up losing 6-0. It was a game that was destined to fail since the team were 6 players short and had to borrow player from the Old-Timers to field a team. Since this was a full sized pitch the old-timers couldn't keep the pace thus providing great opportunities for Warta. It still was a valiant try.

The next game up on the 6th was postponed.

And yesterday they matched up against Stare Byki FC and put it all together to win 2-1. The team had numerous opportunties to score and outplayed Warta but had to settle for only 2 goals. This was an important victory since both teams are tied with 10 points each in the standings and the victory gives our Liths Team the edge.

The next 3 games (8/20, 8/27 and 9/10) are all home games at the World Center. This is a good opportunity to come out and cheer the team on.

July 28, 2023

News from the Men's team: they are confident that they are building a championship team and hope to prove it through their excellent play on the pitch. A positive attitude helps win games, good luck and we are cheering you on.(Pic and roster on the Men's team page}

The Little Liths are preparing for the fall season and registration is active. As soon as details are available they will be posted on the Iron Wolf page.

June 17, 2023

The Werewolves have played the last game of the season and unbfortunately lost 5-2 to TCSA Manchester. A victory to close out the season would have been nice, but alas it was not meant to be. The Werewolves finish with 4 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw.

Tomottow is Father's Day and the Men;s team play at 2 pm at the home. If you aren't doing anything come out and cheer them on.

June 15, 2023

The Men's team beat Winged Bull AC 3-2 last Sunday. However in a game on Tuesday against the Steel City FC Reserves they lost 2-1. Next game is this Sunday June 18th at 2 PM vs Tesla at the Lithuanian World Center.

June 11, 2023

Well the Coyotes finished off the season today against Kankakee County SA. It was a high-scoring game but unfortuately the Coyotes lost 8-6. They finished off the season with 4 wins and 4 losses.

The Men's team played today, will post results when they are available.

June 4, 2023

Werewolves had a tough match today against INTER FC. Startyed off good with the team scoring first and maintaining control through the first half. However a number of questionable no calls by the ref that resulted in injuries to our team had a negative impact and Inter went on to score at will and win the game 5-1. There will be a formal protest lodged and we will await the result of that action.

In other action, the Men's team lost 4-0 to AAC Winged Bull. Yhis has dropped them into 6th place. Nest game is June 11th (3 pm) against Winged Bull FC at Loyola Academy Munz Campus Field 3.

June 3, 2023

The Wolves finished off the season with a loss to the Roadrunners 5-1. Wasn't the best of seasons for the Wolves; but they put in an effort.

The Coyoters won deciselvly today, 8-0. Those Little Liths have shown a lot of spunk and desire. They finish off the season next week at home.

June 2, 2023

Wolves played ECSA 2013 tonight and is spite of playing a hard and smart game they came up short 5-2. Evan had the brace in the first half to keep it close but it wasn't enough. Mantas and Victor manned the goal but couldn't stop ECSA. Last game of the season tomorrow. Finish strong!!

May 22, 2023

The Liths ClubMen's team played the Steel City FC Reserves yesterday in a home gameand lost 4-3. They are currently in 4th place with one win and one loss, standings are posted on Men's Team page. Next game should be June 4th.

May 21, 2023

The Werewolves annihilated TESLA FC 14-2. Fantastic!

The team started off slowly but really got it going in the second half. Aleks continued his dominance as the lead scorer with 4 goals and Augustas and Martynas both got hat tricks with 3 each. The play was good and our goalies did a terrific job. They were complimentedby the Tesla coach for excellent and disciplined play. Nice.

Pics (Thanks Rasa)

May 20, 2023

The Coyotes cloberred Chivas Academy 10-0. Wow,what a display of power.

May 13, 2023

Werewolves had a tough game today against Inter FC. They were down 3-1 at one point but fought backto finish the game ata 4-4 draw. Our scoring leader Alex scored all the golas - good job! There were missed opportunities (including a missed PK)and alack of subs didn't help. But still a great effort to prevent a loss.

Coyotes had a tough loss against Roma FC, final score was 4-3.

And the Wolves fared worse losing to the TCSA Wolverines 7-4.

May 10, 2023

This just in. Our Men's team is playing in the National Metro Soccer League and won the first match of the outdoor season 1-0 over Stare Byki FC. Good way to start.

May 7, 2023

The Wolves got clobbered by Inter FC this morning losing 8-1 with our lone goal by William. Started out strong and were dominating the game. Mantas was decidedly the player of the match showing great skill and leadership, it was his playmaking and passing that set up William for the score. Unfortunately mistakes were made and the team fell behind.

Meanwhile the Werewolves beat ECSA 2012 B White 4-3. Beat them 2 weeks in a row. The game wasn't played at the level the werewolves are capable of. Our keeper, Marty, let some easy ones get by but got it together and stopped them when it counted to keep the win for the team. Alex continued on with his exceptional play and got a brace with his 2 goals. Next week we meet the undefeated Inter FC, so buckle down team.

Go Liths!!

May 6, 2023

Coyotes played Tesla today and discharged their batteries by winning 2-1. The team dominated in the 1st half but started running out of juice in the 2nd, nevertheless they hung in there for the victory.

d

April 30, 2023

The Werewolves continued on with their winning ways beating ECSA 2012 B White 3-1. Superstar Alex gothimselfanother hat trick scoring all 3 of the teams goals (one on a PK). Score could have been higher, there were 2 missed PK's and 2 hit the crossbar. But a win is a win.

The Wolvesbroke their losing strike with a draw against the Strikers FV 13 Select. Final score was 0 -0. It was a great game with both sides playing very well. Our goalkeeper, Elisey, prevented a loss by stopping a PK. Terrific.

Good job by all the players. Keep it up!

April 29, 2023

Coyotes had a rough day against Midwest United. Played a good first half and then seemed to lose focus in the 2nd half losing 5-2. OK you little LIths, regroup and stay strong!

Later in the day the Werewolves met Tesla FC and romped winning decisively by a score of 10-3. Both Alex and Ervinas had hat tricks scoring 3 each, Augustas got a brace with 2 and just for good measure Devin and Martynas put in one each. Good dynamic victory, carry it on to tomorrow for the next match.

April 23, 2023

The Wolves had a home game against the Carol Stream Panthers. Alas, there was no homefield advantage as the team lost 7-0. There are good individual moves but the teamwork is not where it should be to finish off a play. There were some good shots on goal but none made it past the Panthers defense.

April 22, 2023

The Coyotes took it on the chin today losing to Gremio FC 6-1. They played tough in the cold weather and Kristupa sscored the teams only goal.

April 15, 2023

Horrible weather day to play but the Werewolves put on a valiant effort despite having no subs. Lost 5-3 to TCSA Manchester. The team had rallied from being down 1-0 to go up 3-2 but gave up 3 goals in the waning minutes. OK you Werewolves, lets get the team up to full strength for the next match.

The Wolves had to scramble to get enough players available to field a team to avoid taking a forfeit against Midway SC. They played a valiant game but came up short 4-0. Good try for being short handed and the weathe rbeing miserable. Time to regroup.

April 14, 2023

The 2023 NISL outdoor season has begun and our Coyotes have started off the club year with a 4-3 victory over the Orland Park Sting FC. It was a well-payed game and our Coyotes showed hw much they have learned. Keep up the good work.

February 24, 2023

The Naz Futsal season has ended and the teams finished it off on a mostly positive note. Even though only the Wolves Yellow team won in a hard fought battle the other teams showed good spunk in either ending in a tie or playing hard in spite of a loss. The teams showed improvemnet oveer the season and hopefully this will continue as the outdoor spring season is getting ready to begin.

Go Liths!!

February 19, 2023

It was a good day for the club yesterday at Naz Futsal. 3 out of 4 of the teams won and the Coyotes Red team played great but came up just short.

Coyotes Red played Tatra Soccer 5 and lost 3-2. The goalies on were impressive: Rytas had 6 saves and Conrad had 8. Their play kept the game within reach. Way to go! Emmett scored both goals.

The Coyotes Blue team easily handled Naz 4 beating them 6-2.

The Wolves Green team destroyed The AC Warriors 4 team by 11-5. Terrific and thanks to the Yellow team players who helped out.

Finally the Wolves Yellow team took it to the Spartans 6-2. They put on a beautiful performance with their deft passing and strong defense.

Next week finishes off the Futsal season. Let's see ifwecan make it a clean sweep with 4 victories.

February 11, 2023

The Coyotes Blue team lost a tight one to the AC Warriors 9-6. The game started out poorly for the Coyotes because of the physical play of the Warriors; but the team adjusted and fought back.

The Coyotes Red team also had a tough outing losing a close one to Tatra Soccer 3-1. Mantas scored the teams lone goal.

Our Wolves green team played it hard but lost to Naz 4 - 2.

However the Wolves yellow team played a nail biter. They ended up losing to the AC Warriors 5-4. There was a questionable call giving a goal to the Warriors but we have no instant replay to challange that. Overall the team could have won but just couldn't pull it off.

Maybe the results haven't been good so far this season but the teams are showing improvement as can be seen from the final scores.

Go Liths!!!

February 5, 2023

Yesterday was a busy day at Naz Futsal. The Coyotes Blue team had back to back games to make up for the season opener cancellations.

Unfortunately the team lost both games: to Naz by 3-2 and to Tatra Soccer #5 by 5-0. Despite the losses the team played very well. Looks promising for future games.

The Coyotes Red team on the other hand won their match against Naz #4 by 5 - 1. They played great with Alex, Rytas and Mantas scoring one each and Emmett putting in 2. Highlight of the game was Rytas (when in goal) stopping a penalty kick - way to go!!

Our Wolves teams suffered another loss. Green lost to Tatra Soccer #4 by 5 - 1 and Yellow got outplayed by Tatra Soccer #3 9 - 3. Green showed promise bt playing well. just have to get it put together.

Wolves pics (thanks to Virga)

January 28, 2023

Sorry about not posting last week. Anway all the teams lost last week. However there was improvement this week.

Even though both Blue and Red Coyotes lost today, the Red team showed improvement and played better than their 5-2 loss indicated. Blue went down 6-2.

The Wolves fared better. Greenlost 5-2; but Yellow won 4-3 beating the Spartans for the 2nd time this season.

Lets Go Liths!!

January 27, 2023

The Lithuanian Rotary Club of Chicago reognizes organization and/or individuals who have shown meritorious contributions to the Lithuanian communty. This year thye addedacategory for sports and our Liths Club was one of three nominated for the award. Even though we lost out to the Lituanica Basketball Club, it was stillan honor to berecognized.

January 14, 2023

Week 2 of Futsal at Naz and we are mostly at full strength. Our Coyotes Blue team met up with Naz4 and outplayed them to win 5-2. Mantas led the scoring with a hat trick and Alex and Simonas put in one each. Great show team.

Then the Coyotes Red team played Tatra Soccer 5 and got themselves a clean sheet victory 2-0. Great game. Rytas and Mantas scored one each.

The Wolves Yellow team was scheduled for 2 games back to back. In the first game they met Tatra Soccer 3 and avenged their loss from a week ago to this same team by a score of 4-2. Scoring was split evenly by Devin, Martynas, Ervinas and Nolan. Good game. In their second game they played the Spartans and won 4-3. Fantastic! Scoring was split between Ervinas and Augustas, 2 each.

In an earlier game the Wolves Green team didn't fare as well and lost to Naz3 3-0.

Well almost a clean sweep today. Better luck next week.

Go Liths!!!

January 8, 2023

With the start on a new year the Naz Futsal soccer has begun. Not a good start for the club because 3 games couldn't be played due to a lack of available players only the Wolves Yellow team was able to field a team. They played hard but with only 1 available substitute they couldn't fend off Tatra 3 and lost 7-4.

Next week we should be back at full strength and Yellow has a challange with 2 games in a row.

December 11, 2022

The last of the NAZ Futsal preseason games were played today and all 4 of our teams came up short. (check thescores on the Academy page).

Now there will be a break until the season begins. Time to work on the weaknesses and get ready to win some games.

Go Coyotes and Wolves!!

December 10, 2022

In celebration of the great year that the Coyotes and Wolves had, the club hosted a party for he parents and the players. Awards were presented to all the players and the parents even presented a thank you gift to the club for the hardwork they have put in.

It was a great atmosphere and there was no shortage of food and refreshments for everyone. Many thanks to the parents that brought a wonderful variety of food items.

Pics:

December 3, 2022

The preseason for the NAZ Futsal league has begun. The Coyote Blue team lost 1-4 to NAZ and the Coyote Red team had a draw at 6-6 against Tatra Soccer. The Wolves Green played the AC Warriors and had a bad day losing 16-2 while the Wolves Yellow took in on the chin 5-6 against NAZ. This is why you have preseason games, Find out were you need to improve.

Go you Coyotes and Wolves!!

November 14, 2022

The MLS season for the men's and over-48 teams has ended. Unfortunately neither team's season ended as well as for our young Wolves. Final results and standings are on the individual pages.

November 12, 2022

This is it. The championship weekend!!

The Wolves had the early game and met Blue IslandWhite at 9 AM on a frigid, but sunny, morning. Wolves had the jiitters early and fell behind but they settled down and took over command of the game. Adomas was outstanding protecting the goal amd Edgar was a beast on defense. Ervinas and Martynas continued to show their offensive prowess and you can't forget Devin and Ausgustas just feeding it in from the wings.

Coach Aleks calm as ever...

In the other semifinal game, Oak Lawn played Alsip Lemon to a tie and won it on PK diffrential. The finals were set.

So game on. First halfwas tough, both sides held their own and it was tied at the break. A pep talk from the coaches fired up the team

and the 2nd half started.

It was a night and day difference. The Wolves got their A game going and crushed Oak Lawn. Final score was 9-1

WOLVES ARE THE WINNERS!! WE ARE NUMBER 1!!

November 5, 2022

The playoffs began and with the Wolves having the number 2 seed they had the luxury of playing their opponent at home. The Blue Island Blue team had to defeat Midlothian at 9 AM to earn the right to travel out to Lemont.

The Wolves were more than excited to meet up against this Blue Island team again, the only team that beat them during the regular season.

The weather was miserable, cold, dreary and extremely windy but the Wolves did not care. They got out on the pitch and showed Blue Island who was the better team. Adomas took control of the goal and prevented a number of attempts by the Islanders. Good show Adomai and good thinking clearing the ball out of bounds when our defense got beat.

The scoring was fast and furious with goals from Ervinas, Augustas, Devin, Alex and a first for Marius when he fooled the keeper with a chip shot. Way to go Mariau!! Did I miss someone?

The rest of the team was not idle just watching the scoring, they played outstanding fooball to help setup the scoring. Edgar contolled the flow of the game from the center and almost scored when switched to striker. Adele and Amelia were strong at their positions and kept a positive flow going. Grantas controlled the midfield well and Vladimir was very good at defense and subbed out Adomas in goal. Terrific game, terrific job by the team and a terrific 11 - 2 victory.

On to next week for the next game and a victory that would put them into the championship game later that same day!!

**

October 30, 2022

The regular season came to an end and the Wolves kept up their winning ways by beating Alsip Lemon 7 - 0. The team showed good sportsmanship by slowing the game down and scoring less. Martynas S. continued his excellent scoring bt blasting in 2 from outside thebox and the rest of team didn't hold back. Great game. Waiting fora playoff schedule.

The Coyotes had a gift because Bridgeview #1 had to forfeit because they couldn't put a team together. A friendly game may get scheduled in lieu of this.

So congratulations to both of our teams for an outstanding performance. The next step is stronger competition so Coyotes and Wolves don't get too smug, a challange awaits you.

October 22, 2022

Finally back on or home pitch for the last 2 games of the season.

Wolves were up first and took on Hickory Hills. It was a great game and the wolves had better competition; but nevertheless they won 13- 5. Ervinas was on fire with 4 goals and Martynas put in a fantastic hard shot from outside the box. Adomas excelled as the goalie, even stopping a PK. Awesome!

Pics (thanks to Virga:

And then the Coyotes came out against Alsip Navy. The team continued it's dominance and won 9-0. Simon, Aleks and Luca took charge and made this happen.

Pics (thanks to Virga:

One more week and then it's playoffs. Go you little Liths!!

October 15, 2022

Well the Wolves matched up against Midlothian today and continued their dominant play winning 10-1. Great game.

The coyotes had a game added to their schduled and played Midlothian #2 and matched the Wolves score, 10-1. Another great game from those Little Liths.

Go you Wolves and Coyotes, keep up your winning ways!!

October 8, 2022

A beautiful fall day. Sunny and cool, perfect football weather. Both teams headed off to Bridgeview for their matches.

Wolves were up first and wasted no time showing who was in command. Great playing from the team and kudos to Alex S for his hat trick. Well done. Bridgeview didn't have a chance and the Wolves took the victory 8 - 1.

Pics:

The Coyotes were up next against Bridgeview #1. Well it was no contest, the Coyotes scored at will. Mantas, Oktavius, Aleks, Klaudius and Luca all scored (did I miss someone?). Final score was 11-0. It was too easy for the Coyotes as they continued their unbeaten streak.

Pics:

Only one away game left for the Wolves and then both teams finish off the season at home.

October 6, 2022

The Coyotes had a mid-week game against Burbank tonight and won decisively 11- 2. It was basically a one sided game with our team scoringat will. Mantas scored 4 (hat trick plus one), Luca got into the hat trick club by scoring 3 and Konrad and Simon had 2 each. After 4games the Coyotes are undefeated, 3 victories and one draw.

Go you Coyotes, go!!!

October 1, 2022

So they lost to Blue Island White last week, big deal; today they took on Blue Island Blue and showed who realy is the team to beat. Grantas scored 4 goals to lead the Wolves and Alex S. our newest addition to the team showed some pro moves with his chesting down a pass and slamming it into the goal with a beautiful one on kick.

What else do we need to say, the team is gelling and showing their talent. Go you Wolves!!

Well the Coyotes dispatched Midlotian #1 8-0. Wasn't even a contest. Oktavius scored numerous times and Emmitt together with Rytas made sure wegot the cleansheet. Our little ones showed up big.

September 24, 2022

After an impressive showing last week, the Wolves met some stiff competition with the Blue Island White team. They were down 5-1 at the half but fought back in the second half to finish with a 5-4 loss. The comeback showed that the team does not give up and keeps playing hard. The team had only 2 subs available, so fatigue was a factor, Still a good effort, go Wolves!

The Coyotes also played Blue Island but at a diferent location. It was a good game but the Coyotes didn't get the win because the referee didn't allow an own goal and the team ended the game with a 4-4 tie. This is discouraging but our Coyotes will bounce back. Go you Little Liths!!

September 17, 2022

The fall season has started and the Coyotes and Wolves got off to a great start.

The wolves were the superior team and out played Burbank. It wasn't even a match, Burbank wasn't prepared. The league rules didn't allow for scores to go into the double digit leads, so 9 was the maximum the Wolves could post with a clean sheet victory.

Not to demean their opponents but the Wolves outplayed Burbank and totally dominated the game. Great game, but don't let it go to your head, there is a stronger opponent yet to be played.

The Coyotes were not as dominant; but nonetheless they did win 4-2 over the Bridgeview #2 team. Good playing and excellent teamwork. all that training is paying off.

Pics:

August 3, 2022

So the Coyotes finished off the Bridgeview summer season with an 11-1 win. Fantastic.

The team played hard and intensely, Alex and Mantas scored 2 each, Ervinas got a hat trick with 3 and Devin put in 4. Alex had his best game with good dribbling and passing. The team even showed off it's playmaking abilities with scores off of crosses.

So a terrific end for the Coyotes.

August 2, 2022

The end of the season was upon us with playoff time and the Wolves met up with the Rico Stars.

The team played an outstanding game, probably one of the best ones yet, however there were some controversial calls by the official that helped give the win to the Rico Stars 3-1. In spite of it, the Wolves played hard and refused to let any of that affect their performance.

Great game and excellent sportsmanship. Go Wolves! Let the next league season begin.

July 27, 2022

So next week is here and the Wolves made up for last week by beating the Mayas 5 - 1. The team played well on offensive with great passing and the defense was sound. Augustas S score 3 - a hat trick!! - , Grantas and Ervinas scored one each.

Great job Wolves!!!

Following that game the Coyotes also matched up against the Mayas (their age group). However the match did not go well for the team and they ended up losing 16 - 0.

July 20, 2022

Week 4 at Bridgeview ended up as a disaster for both teams. The Coyotes lost 6-0 and Wolves lost 12-1. The teams tried but were outmatched in all aspects of the game.

Better luck nest week.

July 13, 2022

So week 3 at Bridgeview straeted off with scheduling issues and created some confusion. Once that was sorted out the games were on.

The Coyotes had the first game but were shorthanded because they had been scheduled for the later game. So with most of the team still not having arrived the Wolves helped out. The game was officially changed to an exhibition game.

The Coyotes game was a closely fought contest. Ervinas scored first for the team then went on to play goalie replacing Gerard. The final goal was scored by Alexa and the Coyotes won 2-1.

The Wolve had to wait an hour to play their game but when they got on the pitch they showed that last week was not typical.

The team put on a clinic. Devin had an outstanding game. Fantastic dribbling matching that of world class players like Messi. He scored once. ausgustas S showed fantastic hustle and terrific passing. He managed to get one in and hot the post on another attempt.

Augustas T showed his skill well scoring twice and Ervinas put in a spectacular goal. Julius kept the opposition to one goal, great goal keeping.

Great job. Hopefully next weekgoes smoother with the scheduling.

July 6, 2022

Week 2 at Bridgeview and both teams had games.

The Wolves (with a few Werewolves) had the early match against IFC. Wasn't a very dynamic game and the team wasn't in sync. Ervinas scored the lone goal and the Wolves lost 1-6.

The Coyotes followed and matched up against Mt. Greenwood. Was a tougher match than last week but the Coyotes kept it level. Devin scored a hat trick and Mantas supplied one more. Alas, Mt. Greenwood matched that output and the game ended in a draw 4-4.

Better luck next week.

June 29, 2022

The Bridgeview Summer season has opened and the Coyotes matched up against West Lawn SC.

Great game for the young ones and it ended up being the Devin show - 5 goals!! He controlled the game and was nice enough to let Mantas have a goal. Couldn't stop West Lawn from scoring; but it was a 6-4 victory none the less!

Go you Little Liths!!

June 12, 2022

So this was it, the final game of the CPSL and the Wolves were matched up against West Loop Blue U9, a team they beat by nine goals a little over a month ago. It started out as a dreary day with it raining everywhere west and south of the city but not at Skinner Park, here the sun came out for most of the game.

To match the day, the game started out a bit dreary. The Wolves scored first right at the start of the game with a quick goal by Edgar and it seemed like it would be another wipe out. But no, West Loop played hard and equalized the score putting one in past the first half goalie Augustas T. The Wolves struggled and seemed surprised at the good play of their opponents.

Midway through the first half we scored again with August S slamming one in; but the lead didn't last long before West Loop leveled and then managed to take the lead before the half expired.

With a little pep talk at half time and a goalie change to Gerard the team came out strong to start the second half. They looked sharper but not too long into the half they found themselves down by 2. so now it was crunch time and slowly but surely Augustas S and Ervinas started finding the net and the team made a great recovery and managed to win the game 5-4.

Wasn't the prettiest win of the season but it was good way to finish it off. Go Wolves!!

June 5, 2022

What a beautiful day for a soccer game and the Coyotes made it into the beautiful game that it is.

The Coyotes controlled the tempo and even put on a display with an excellent play. Oktavius was going down the pitch passed it over to Emmett who then skilfully fed it to Ervinas for a score. Goooal!!!

Great playing and scoring. Ervinas scored 2, Emmett, Oktavius and Augustas S scored one each. So the final tally was 5 - 2. Great game you Little Liths! Go Coyotes!

June 4, 2022

On a cool and cloudy day the Wolves met up with the West Loop White at Skinner Park in Chicago. The team was a bit short handed and borrowed Mantas to help out. Konrad played goalie in first half and Mantas took over in the 2nd half.

The team put on a good performnce. Ervinas, Augustas S and Vincent R put on constant pressure with Vincent putting in a good performance at his position. Ervinas and Augustas both scored one each and there could have been more.

Next week is the final game of the season back here at Skinner Park. Let's get a great turnoout and even better win. Go Wolves!!!

May 22, 2022

Beautiful day, cool but dry. Perfect for a soccer game. The Wolves were present at full strength to play the West Loop Blue (U10) team in a rematch of the mudfest at Skinner Park a month ago.

Game started off fast with both teams battling for possession. Tauras was psyched up and ready to put on another stellar goalie performance and the team was ready to back him up. It was staying very even but then West Loop had a quick pass and the speedy striker got open and slammed one in high into the net. Undaunted the Wolves pushed hard and managed to strike back with a hard shot from Augustas T. Level!

But it was not to last as West Loop managed to sneak one in and go up by one. The Wolves stayed firm and didn't allow this to phase them. They had a numbe of opportunities that missed the mark and then finally Konrad slammed one in to level the match again.

Was looking like the game would go into halftime level at 2 each but unfortunately West Loop blooped one in as time was expiring to go up by one.

The second half was a bit ragged but managed to get settled. The Wolves didn't relent but West Loop got another goal in and put the team down by two. It was time to put in some extra effort and the team became aggressive on offense. A chance for a set play came on a corner and Ervinas put on his best Beckam shot and curved it into the far post. Wow! What a shot! This spurred the team to push hard to try and level. Another chance came soon with another corner and Ervinas was stoked. He thought he had done it again but the official was right there and said it didn't cross the line. Bummer! That would have been dramatic.

So time was starting to run out but as bad luck would have it West Loop got another goal in and the game ended soon after with the Wolves losing 5-3.

Our Wolves played a fantastic game. A loss is always hard but the effort was there and there are still 2 games left in the season. On to Skinner Park for the final games. See you all there!

May 21, 2022

The Wolves met up with IPro Skills for a makeup game of the one that got canceled at the beginning of the season. The weather was miserable and not cooperating but the rain stopped just in time for the kickoff. The Wolves were shorthanded and had to play some of their best soccer to stay in the game.

Tauras put on an incredible performance in goal. Catching the ball, kicking it away, parrying shots left and right - excellent! Amelia and Konrad provided the defensive support, Augustas S and Devin controlled the ball along the flanks and fed the ball in for good shot opportunities. Ervinas scored twice and Augustas S got one but this wasn't enough as IPro managed to get 4 goals. So final score was 4 - 3.

It was a tough game but the Wolves didn't back down.

Tomorrow it's a rematch against West Loop Blue (U10).

May 15, 2022

The Wolves met Midway for the home field rematch. Midway has a tough team with a number of large players creating an aura of intimidation. The first half was all Midway with our goalies having a hard time and Augustas S getting out-physicaled (again). Being down 5 - 0 at the half sparked the team and they put on a good performance in the second half with 5 goals total from Julius, Lukas K and Ervinas; however Midway manged to put in 3 more to seal the victory at 8 - 5.

Edgar played an exceptional game and Marius, Ervinas, Adomas and Devin held their own against the talented Midway players.

Good effort. Time to finish off the season in the coming weeks with victories.

May 11, 2022

The Coyotes met St. Patricia for a Wednesday night match. The pitch had very long grass so it slowed the ball down making it a rough game to play. But the Coyotes weren't phased by it and kept on shooting. Goals were scored by Klaudius, Emmett, Luca and Mantas. Luca had a nice one off a cross and Klaudius had a break away goal. Final score was 9-2 in favor of the Coyotes. Great work you Little Liths!

May 7, 2022

Today was a doubleheader for the Wolves, in addition to the regularly scheduled game they also had a makeup game immediately after.

In the first game against West Loop Blue (U9) the Wolves dominated the game. Augustas S. (2), Augustas T. (1), Ervinas (4), Devin (2) and Edgar (2) scored, while only allowing West Loop to score twice. The game ended withthe Wolves winning 11-2. It was obvious that the West Loop team was inexperienced and didn't stand a chance. Even though the game was a mismatch it was a good morale booster. shows that the Wolves have developed and can control a game.

Then without much of a break they went on to play Midway SC. This came was a bit slower and the Wolves were getting outplayed. Ervinas, Edgar and Konrad scored; but 3 wasn't enough against Midway's 8 and the Wolves took a loss with the final score at 8-3. Considering that they had just played a full game, fatigue probably played a factor in the loss; however they were still able to hold their own. Midway has some very big players that do create a bit of intimidation.

The game was physical with numerous injuries but the players fought through it. Improvement is still needed in certain areas and that will happen. Our attack along the flanks and midfield is very good. Konrad's goal was beautiful as he dribbled past 3 defenders nad put in a rocket from space into the net.

Good effort Wolves. We meet Midway again in June, on our home turf.

April 30, 2022

With storm clouds aproaching the Coyotes hosted Our Lady of the Woods (OLW) at the World Center. The team was hyped up and ready to play and they showed it by scoring early - great shot Gerard!

The Coyotes kept the ball in their end most of the game and didn't allow OLW to even get a decent position to shoot on goal. The Coyotes spread out and controlled play well. It wasn't long before Rytas put one in put the team up 2.

As the 2nd half progressed the rain started to come down but not hard enough to stop play. As the game was nearing the end, Luca took advantage of an OLW breakdown and put in the final goal of the game. Then with 2 minutes left to play the skies opened up and the game came to a quick end. The game ended with the Coyotes winning 3 - 0.

About an hour later the Wolves met West Loop Blue (U10) at Skinner Park in Chicago. It was a muddy affair and the Wolves lost 8 -3.

The pitch was in terrible shape and the rain didn't help any; but in spite of that the team played hard and put in a terrific effort. August S and Ervinas did all the scoring for the team though not enough to overcome the West Loop onslaught.

April 23, 2022

Second week in a row for a home game for the Wolves as they matched up against IPro Skills Academy. It was a summer like day but a bit windy, still a great day for a game.

The Wolves were without their starting goalie so Augustas S volunteered for the first half. The game started off on a fast pace and both teams were playing aggressive offense. However IPro scored first and followed up quickly with another goal. The Wolves battled hard but couldn't find the net in the first half while yielding 3 more to IPro. IPro played physically and had a number of fouls called against them with one player getting booked with a yellow card.

The second half was more settled for the Wolves. Augustas T took over in the goal and played well. Augustas S fooled the IPro goalie and laid one in with the goalie well off the line. This energized the Wolves but they were unable to score anymore goals while giving away one more to IPro. Not the best day losing 6 - 1 but the team did not give up. Go Wolves!!

April 10, 2022

Finally, the outdoor season has started. After 2 early season cancellations (to be rescheduled) the Wolves hosted the West Loop White at the Lithuanian World Center. West Loop was shorthanded (spring break issues) so the game was played 6 v 6 instead of the prescribed 7 v 7. The game was also played as 3 15min periods to give the West Loop players a chance to catch their breath.

The game started off fast and it didn't take long for August T to put one into the net. And before West Loop had a chnce to settle down, Augustas put in 2 more before the first period expired, giving him a hat trick for the game. The next period saw both teams go scoreless as the game slowed down a bit. The Wolves substituted freely so that all the players, epecially the new ones, got a chance to show what they could do.

The final period started off rather slowly but then the Wolves picked up the tempo and Ervinas laid one into the net to put the Wolves up by 4. The game was nearing the end when West Loop put on a strong surge and finally scored ruining Tauras's clean sheet. This motivated them and shortly thereafter they put in a second goal. However the Wolves stiffened up and the game ended with the Wolves beating the West Loop White 4-2. Great game and the team had fun.

And then the Coyotes played at St. Catherine in Oak Lawn.

Not a dramatically exciting game except for all the scoring. Oktavius kicked in 2, Emmett matched that output with his own 2 and then Mantas S., Augustas S., Tauras B and Ryas B all got one each. Needless to say that St. Catherine was completely outplayed.

Nice job you Little Liths!!

No media for this game, sorry.

March 24, 2022

The season ended with a final playoff game between the Werewolves and the Lisle Fireballs. The team came amped up and ready to play. Ahmed was out of the country so we were fortunate to get a seasoned sub, Vytis, to play goalie.

The game started off fast and both teams put on strong attacks; but the defenses held. Our guys put on a beautiful display of teamwork. There was good passing, communication and playmaking. Vytis stopped numerous shots on goal and there were few mistakes. It was scoreless untill the 17th minute when the Fireballs capitalized on a defected shot and snuck one in.

In the 25th minute, Julius jabbed one into the net and the game was tied. Both teams put on furious efforts but the game stayed level until the buzzer sounded the end of regulation time.

This being a playoff game we went to penalty kicks to determine the winner. The Fireballs put 2 in while we were left empty so the final score was 3-1 in favor of Lisle.

This was the best game of the season and the team deserves accolades fora job well done. Go Werewolves!!

March 17, 2022

The final week at Westmont Yard finally arrived and the Werewolves met the Lisle Fireballs once again. With the final stndings already set the outcome of the game wasn't going to change the playoff game scheduled for next week. with that in mind Coach Matynas decided to use this game as an opportunity to eperiment with switching players around to see what worked best.

The game started off on the ragged side with the team out of sync and the Fireballs got 2 goals past Lukas K in the first 6 mins. Lukas settled down and kept the ball out of the goal until replaced by Ahmed near the half of the game. Lukas immediately kicked the ball down the pitch and it went in for a goal over the head of the Fireball goalie. That brought a smile on everyone's face.

With the team energized they stiffened on defense and attacked relentlessly. A number of chances were either stopped or just off the mark. It was looking like another loss until Julius broke free and faced the goalie one on one and put it in for the tying goal.

The team played the Fireballs hard the rest of the game making sure not to give up a goal and tried hard to get a win. Time ran out with the game ending in a 2-2 tie. After the slow start the team turned it into a great game.

Next week are the finals and the Werewolves meet the Lisle Fireballs again to determine who ends up in first place. Should be a good one and it will be in the viewer friendly "A" court.

March 16, 2022

The first warm day of the year was here just in time for goalie training outdoors! Our goalies to be had a chance to learn on the grass, just like in a real game. They had fun as did Coach Kevin.

March 10, 2022

With the end of the league season approaching, the Werewolves were matched up against the number 1 team. A victory would insure no less than a finish in 2nd place, so the game was important.

The team was at full stength, however issues with training sessions being canceled left the team a bit unprepared.

The game started off fast, within the first 12 minutes goals got traded between the teams. Lukas and Jakub scored to keep pace with the Fireballs and the game was tied 2-2. The lack of quality time playing together began to show and the Fireballs were able to score on quick plays. Ahmed was very good in goal and made some tremendous stops, but defensive lapses left him unable to stop them all.

The team kept playing hard but were down by 4 goals with time running out. Then with seconds to play Agustas S drilled in a beautiful strike right over the goalies head. Not enough, unfortunately, and the Werewolves lost 6-3.

We meet again next week in the final league game of the season and it's a must win game to be able to finish in the top 2. With a makeup practice Sunday and another one on Monday the team will have a chance to settle down and enter that game fully prepeared for victory.

Go Werewolves! Go!

March 3, 2022

Another important game for the Werewolves. This was their 3rd matchup against the Black, the team that beat them the last time they met. A loss would make it difficult to finish in the top two in the league, a victory would put destiny in their control.

The Black came into the game shorthanded but the players present were very good. The game started off lethargically for the Werewolves and in the 9th minute a blooper goal snuck past Ahmed. This seemed to spark the team and 2 minutes later Jakub drilled one in to level the score. Then 2 minutes later Augustas got one in. It then became Jakub's game as he put in three more over the next 8 minutes.

The game slowed down then and with 9 minutes left the Black got lucky as Ahmed couldn't keep one out of the goal. But that was it for the Blacks scoring, Ahmed was excellent stopping some excellent shots on him. Good work.

With seconds emaining Jakub struck once more for a total of 5 goals for the game. The Werewolves won it 6-2.

February 26, 2022

The Nazarene season has ended and both our teams ended on a high note.

The Coyotes matched up against Legacy SC U9 Girls and put on a beautiful performance. The team played well on both offense and defense and had some "magic" moments: Rytas put a cross in front of the goal and Mantas was there to pick it up and send into the goal, wow just beautiful, and then on another goal Emmett dribbled through a crowd and nailed one in past the goalie. Masterfull!

Emmitt scored one more time and Tauras B. also got into the actiom. Goalie duties were shared by Rytas, Emmett and Aleksa.

The Wolves faced Naz United U10/11 Boys, a team they lost to early in the season. Well this was payback time and the team showed they came to play. They were aggressive from he start and together with a stifling defense found themselves with a 3 goal lead.

Devin got himself a goal after pressuring on a goal kick and folowed up a loose ball to just tap it in. Both Augustai scored a goal each but Augustas T was still suffering from his injury from last Sunday's friendly and had to leave the game. Being up 3 goals gave the other team a man advantage and they managed to score a goal during that time. Naz fought hard and managed to get one more past Tauras, but that was it for Naz. Tauras had learned a lot from goalie training, good job!

A one goal lead wasn't comfortable enough, so Ervinas put the nail in the coffin with a solid strike past the goalie. Final score was 4-2.

How great was that?

February 24, 2022

Today was a very important game for the Werewolves. They matched up with Neon-Yellow, a team that has surprisingly made a huge improvement, and beat them 4-3.

It was a tough match and the team had to fight for every goal and fend off the Yellow attack. They put on an excellent team performance, sticking to the game plan and executing superbly both on offense and defense. Jakub, Julius K and Augustas S all scored.

No pics or videos, your favorite camera man was a bit under the weather.

This win puts us solidly back in 2nd place and as long as we don't let the Black beat us next week, we will meet the Lisle Fireballs for 2 weeks in a row. Those games could well decide who finishes in first place.

Go Liths!!

February 23, 2022

Special goalie training sessions were started today and under the strict tutelage of Coach Kevin, the Academy members interested in playing goalie went through the drills and instructions necessary to play the position well.

The session went well with the kids enthusiatically involved. Thanks Kevin for taking on this important training class.

Springtime is getting close and the old-timers are looking forward to starting the season. Of course they want to be in good shape and soccer fit, so they practice year round - even in the snow!

Let's go you old-timers!!

February 20, 2022

After a tough league match on Saturday the Wolves met up with Midway SC at Compass Arena for a friendly match.

The Wolves still took it seriously and played hard. Tauras was exceptional at the goalie position but couldn't fend off the attack from the excellent Midway team.

During the game Augustas F suffered an injury to his foot that put him on the sidelines for the remainder of the match.

Augustas S and Ervinas pushed the ball downfield but couldn't get past the Midway goalie. The team played very well but couldn't pull out a victory losing 5-0.

February 19, 2022

Afer a stinging defeat last week the Coyotes were fired up and ready to show what they are really made of. For this week 7 matchup they met Legacy SC U8,

The game started off fast and the Coyotes struck first with Emmett putting the ball in past the Legacy goalie. The lead didn't last long with Legact sneaking one in past Gerard. The Coyotes kept their composure and resumed their attack. Soon they took the lead again with Augustas S putting one in.

Leagacy played well and kept attacking but the Coyotes defended well and kept getting possession back. The Coyotes put on a display of teamwork sharing scoring with Luca and Simon (terrific goals)abd Emmett got himself a 2nd goal. Legacy manged to slip one in against 2nd half goalie Rytas but it wasn't enough to overcome the Coyotes and the game ended with a 5-2 victory.

The score could have been 6-2 but a goal by Augustas was disallowed on a rules violation. The best part of the game was that the Coyotes found themselves in the position of having to give the opponents game advantage with an extra player.

Good game by everyone.

The Wolves came up next against the Spartans SC U10. The Wolves came prepared and had a game plan in mind. Losses and draws were not what they wanted.

The game turned into a fast paced battle. Both sides were aggressive and didn't back down from each other. Ervinas struck first on a well placed goal but it didn't take long before the Spartans got one in past Tauras B.

Ervinas got taken down in the box and earned a PK attempt. With a hard well placed kick he sailed it past the goalie and we went up a goal.

Of course the game would get tied but that didn't stop Augustas S from getting one in. The Wolves led 3-2 for a good portion of the game but allowed one in near the end of the game. With time running out Ervinas earned himself a hat trick putting in the winning goal. Thus the game ended with a 4-3 victory.

The game was not without it's dramatic moments. Augustas T went down hard in the beginning of the game and laid in pain for awhile before limping off the pitch. Everyone was relieved. Of course he would not sit still for long. After a long stretch on the sideline he went back in and almost got a goal. It appeared to cross the line but the goalie had his hands on it and without a good site line the ref sided with the goalie.

Can't forget the other players. They may not have scored but had an impact on the game. Edgar was strong on defense, Marius and Devin disrupted the spartans and moved the ball down the line and even the newest addition Grantas got in and contributed with some good play.

Fantastic game and it had a playoff atmosphere with the crowd roaring throughout the match.

Go Liths!!!

February 12, 2022

The Coyotes were missing a couple of players for their game and had to borrow Tauras B to start off in the goal against Naz United U8/9 Boys.

The game did not go well from the beginning with the Coyotes falling significantly behind very quickly. It wasn't for lack of hustle and desire, that was evident; however the team was having a hard time focusing on good team play.

Gerard took over in the goal for the 2nd half but didn't fare much better. Defensive support of the goalie was inconsistant. The coaches were disappointed and commented on how the team is very good during the training sessions but it doesn't seem to translate into good play on the pitch. The final score was a very lopsided 11-0.

Not to give excuses but the opposition had more players available to sub in and overall were older than our Coyotes.

On the bright side (there always is some sunshine on a cloudy day), there were some good plays and Luca continued to show his good knowledge of the game whith good aggressiveness and getting open to try and extend plays.

Not a good day but with 2 weeks left there is a chance to recover a bit.

After a long break the Wolves got on the pitch against Naz United U10/11 Girls. The team was fired up for the game, didn't have Augustas S for the game but everyone else was there.

The game started off on a fast pace from both teams. The Wolves attacked the goal efficiantly but again they were up against good goal keepers. Tauras B was also busy protecting our goal from the Naz attack.

We fell behind by a goal but that didn't bother the team. A chance to level was lost when Augustas T missed his PK left of the goal. Then Naz snuck one in to extend their lead. Not to be deterred the Wolves pushed hard and Augustas put one in on a hard strike. Beautiful play.

The game continued this way with he Naz goalie stopping numerous direct shots. Naz went up 2 on a blooper goal when the ball rolled away from Taurus and took a left turn into the goal.

Time was against the Wolves but Augustas managed to get another goal in. However the Naz defense managed to run the clock out and we lost 3-2.

So close and so many good opportunities but it wasn't to be. Everyone on the team played very well but had to combat fatigue against a team that was able to sub out the entire line numerous times.

February 10, 2022

After last week's loss the Werewolves were ready to show that they were the better team, after all they beat the 5th/6th Black 12-1 the last time they met.

The team was missing Lukas K and Jakub; but Julius was back so expectations were high.

Ethan started off in goal and it was game on. The pace was furious and an early attack by the Werewolves was stifled. The Black had obviously been training hard for this match and showed good coordination as they scored first.

Down a goal the Werewolves were slightly stunned by this performance by the Black and shortly allowed 2 more goals. Ahmed went in for relief of Ethan and stopped the Black offensive.

12 minutes into the game our team finally got on the board with a beautiful goal from Augustas S. But the scoring wasn't coming easy and it wasn't until the 21st minute that Julius scored. It was looking good, the Werewolves were on a comeback, but the Black put on a spurt and put in 2 more before Augustas put one in the 29th minute.

With time ticking down the Black took advantage of a tired Werewolves team and scored again. Just before the time expired Julius put in another one but it was too late. Game over and we lost 6-4.

Coach Marty wasn't very pleased with the lack of focus on the part of the team and let them know they had to buckle down and stop this downhill slide - and soon. Next week it's another match with the Lisle Fireballs, the #1 team in the league.

Let's go Werewolves!!

February 5, 2022

So with week 5 at Nazarene we have entered the second half of the Nazarene Futsal League.

The Coyotes met Legacy SC U8 Girls and showed they came to play. Early in the match Gerard snuck one in past the Legacy goalie putting the team up 1-0. This lead remained for a good part of the game before Legacy caught theCoyotes off guard and leveled the score.

The game was fast and well played. Our Coyotes showed how much they have improved with good team play and sound defense. Our team of goalies (Emmett, Gerard and Simon) kept our goal secure and everyone else played aggressively. Have to call out the rest of the team for their effort: Luca for toughness, Aleksa for aggressivness, Mantas and Rytas for constantly attacking the goal.

We couldn't get that winning goal past Legacy and the score ended up a draw at 1-1-. Go you Coyotes!! Great game.

The Wolves met up with Tatra Soccer in the late game. This one proved to be a test of the team. We started off quickly with a goal by Augustas S. and kept the lead for a short while before Tatra got one past Tauras to level it.

Our team fought back hard but kept getting stymied by the outstanding Tatra goalie. He stopped numerous shots with his quick reflexes. Tatra kept subbing out the team as a group keeping them fresh while our Wolves only had 2 subs and we couldn't rest our players as frequently. The tough and aggressive play by both sides caused a few minor injuries on our side (with Augustas T getting the worst of it).

Both Augustai and Ervinas kept a hard attack on the goal and Amelia was a thorn out there going after the ball relentlessly. Devin and Marius were constantly in the mix on offense and defense. Everyone played intensely and passionately but Tatra manged to put in 4 goals and our Wolves lost 4-1.

It was a great performance and our Wolves don't need to hang their heads in shame for losing. Their goalie won the game for them.

February 3, 2022

So 3 weeks ago our Werewolves totally destroyed the Neon Yellow, upon meeting for the second time the Yellow were a different team. They had some new players and a new coach. We were missing Lukas K., Julius K and Edgar.

Our team played hard but without any subs available they were fatigued. Augusts S and Jakub scored goals but we came up one short and lost 4-3. Defeat is always hard but we will come back stronger and play better.

No pics or video this game. Sorry.

Go Liths!!

January 29, 2022

Here we go, week 4 at Nazaene.

The Coyotes were up first against Legacy SC U9 Boys. Things didn't go well from the very beginning with the defense having problems keeping Legacy from scoring. Simon worked hard in goal but couldn't stop all the one on one attacks.

When Emmett scored there was hope that the momentum had shifted, but Legacy buckled down and prevented any more scoring. Gerard took over in goal in the 2nd half and the scoring slowed down. However at that point the rules gave us a player advantage and Legacy slowed down the game. Our Coyotes never gave up and had many opportunities stopped.

Wolves team against Naz United

The Wolves had the next game and had a change of opponent. Originally they were scheduled against Midway SC but this was changed and they met the Naz United Girls.

The game started off with a bang with Augustas S scoring a quick goal and setting the tempo of the game. Naz fought back but Tauras B wasn't about to let anything get past him into the goal and he had excellent support from the rest of the team. The game continued at a fast pace and our Wolves kept testing their goalie numerous times. Augustas scored one more time and Ervinas put one in. With the Wolves ahead by 3 they had to give the advantage to Naz by playing shorthanded.

In the 2nd half Naz bunkered down in front of the goal by placing their largest player in front of the goalie. This made it a tough wall to get past; but our team persisted in attacking. Naz ruined Tauras's clean sheet by sneaking in a late 2nd half goal. This took away their advantage and we returned to full strength; however the Naz wall didn't break and the game ended at 3-1 advantage Wolves.

January 27, 2022

Week 3 at Westmont Yard had our Werewolves playing against the Lisle Fireballs. This was a match of the 2 undefeated teams in the league and a battle for sole possession of first place. We currently hold 1st place because of goal differential.

The game started off on a fast pace and our Werewolves didn't hesitate to take shots on goal. It didn't take long for the team to score on a beautiful distribution from our goalie Ahmed to Tomas who fought off defenders to go up the pitch and then made a perfect pass to Jakub who put it past the goalie. (Watch it on the video ).

The lead didn't hold up very long before the Fireballs snuck one past Ahmed to level the game.

Our guys didn't allow this to phase them and batttled back and eventually Augustas got a great opportunity and scored a goal to put us back in the lead. It was looking good with the lead holding up for awhile until a defensie lapse let the Fireballs go one on one on Ahmed and score.

Fatigue was setting in because of the fast pace of the game and both teams were struggling, then Jakub got a good look and scored to put us ahead again. With time running down keeping the lead was paramount; however the Fireballs put on a push and ran past our defenders to level it at 3-3. Both teams stiffened up for the final few minutes but time ran out withou anyone scoring again. So the game ended on a tie and the two undefeted teams remained that way. We should still hold first place because of goal diferential.

Week 3 at Nazarene (NFL).

The Coyotes took on Midway SC. Started off on a positive note when Rytas B scored an early goal and put the team in the lead. But that didn't last long as Midway leveled by getting the ball past Simon.

The team played hard but the defense wasn't strong enough to overcome the dominant play of Midway. Gerard took over as goalie in the 2nd half but wasn't able to hold off the attack and the game ended with the final score of Midway 11 and the Coyotes 1. Disappointing result but the players are ready to get back to work and play better next week.

The parents watching the game probably wondered why the Coyotes had more players on the pitch than Midway, this was by rule that the team losing by more than 3 points at any time during the game would gain a player advantage.

Game Pics:

Video:

The Wolves took the pitch next and met Naz United Boys.

The game was exciting and the team scored first on a goal by Ervinas. Good hustle. However Naz struck back to level the game and shortly after that took the lead.

Tauras B was not fazed by this and even though a 3rd goal got past him, he kept Naz shutout the rest of the game. The team kept up a relentless assault but couldn't manage anymore goals and ended up losing 3-1. Great effort.

Week 2 at Westmont and the Werewolves do it again. With great team play, grit, presure and possesion football they beat the 5th/6th Black 12-1 Lukas K led the scoring with 6 goals and 2 each were scored by Jakub, Augustas S and Tomas.

Good job!!

January 15, 2022

Week 2 at the Nazarene Futsal League had the Coyotes playing against the Lemont Kicks U9 Girls.

It was a fast moving game and the players on both sides were there to win. We got the upperhand early in the game when Emmitt scored the lone goal of the game. Augustas earned the clean sheet in goal with the help of good defensive play by the team.

The final score was 1-0 in our favor and this made up for the week one loss.

Game Pics:

Immediately after the Coyotes game the Wolves took the pitch against the Spartans U10 Boys.

This game turned out to be very exciting with aggressive play from both sides. We took the lead in the first half with a beautiful goal from our newest team member Augustas T. (aka "Ronaldas"). There were many more great shots on goal but the Spartans goalie played an excellent game and denied us any more goals.

Our goalie, Adomas R., denied all goal attempts by the Spartans and got lucky when the ball got past him and the Spartans had an open goal but misfired badly. Our team defense helped keep the clean sheet with Edgar putting in a good performance. Good job!

Time ran out with the score remaining 1-0 in our favor.

Our little Liths had a very rewarding day, terrific effort and outstanding team spirit. Go Liths!!

January 13, 2022

The Werewolves started off the Westmont Yard league by beating the Neon Yellow. It was a huge mismatch and even though the team started playing possesion ball they still outscored Neon Yellow 19 - 0. The opposition didn't come to play and it showed, hopefully they are more prepared for the next meeting.

The scoring summary for the Werewolves: Lukas K. - 10, Augustas - 4, Jakub - 3 and Julius - 2.

The team played well but the lack of competition didn't stress their skills. Good confidence booster; but be careful the next team could be a challange!

January 8, 2022

The Nazarene Futsal League has started, however not all our players have returned from vacation so both teams had to borrow players from each other.

The Coyotes opened up the season against the Legacy SC U9 Girls. The Coyotes borrowed Augustas from the Wolves to play goalie.

Our players put in a great effort but could ony manage 2 goals, both by Emmitt. The Legacy goalie was able to stop most of the shots on goal. Our defense was good however a few of the goals scored by Legacy were opportunistic and were almost stopped. For not being at full strength the group still was able to make a match out of it.

Game Pics:

Video:

The Wolves took the "pitch" against Naz United FC U10/11 Girls. This was a rematch of the preseason game, however the Wolves were not at full strength. Mantas stepped up to be the goalie and was tested numerous times.

Our team played well and managed to keep possesion of the ball for most of the game. There were numerous good shots on goal that thir goalie managed to stop (one of which was really an outstanding save stopping a sure goal into the upper right corner). This kept our goals at 2, both scored by Augustas. Naz United managed to put in 6 goals, all made possible by their excellent dribbling and passing. Mantas had many outstanding saves but couldn't overcome the constant attacks. Even though Naz United was very good with ball control our team managed to take away the ball most of the time taking advantage of Naz's slightly rekless play.

So even though it was a loss, the play was great.

GO LITHS!!!

December 4, 2021

In preparation for the 2022 Futsal league our "Coyotes" and "Wolves" played a preseason game each against one of their league opponents. This was a terrific opportunity to get ready for league play and our players came ready to play.

First up were the "Coyotes" against Legacy SC Girls. Legacy proved to be a strong opponent and were controlling the game making it uncomfortable for our 2 goalies (Mantas first half and Simon second half), our team was down in the score but not down in attitude. In the second half they put on a surge and managed to get the score leveled at 3 apiece with 2 goals from Mantas and one from Rytas. Alas with time running out, Legacy snuck in a goal and won the game.

It was a great game and the ability of our "Coyotes" to make a strong comeback was impressive. Great game!!

Game Pics:

Video:

Next up were the "Wolves" against Naz United Girls. It was obvious from the start that Naz had a super star on the team. That young lady could dribble circles around everyone and had exceptional speed. She was tough to defend but our team put in a great effort.

The game was fast and we went down early, but as our goalie Tauras settled down he kept the game within reach. and then just like the "Coyotes" our team exploded in the second half taking the lead near the end of the game. Ervinas put on a star performance with his 3 score "hat-trick" and could have had one more but the goalie defended his penalty kick.

But with minutes to play Naz put their star back in and with only seconds to play they scored to level the game.

Great game by our "Wolves", the defense was strong and the offense proved to be a force to be reckoned with!!

November 7, 2021

It was another beautiful fall day for soccer games. The Yellow team played inside at Compass Arena at the request of their opponents West Loop; however only 3 of their players manged to show up. So in the spirit of good sportmanship we borrowed Yelloe Team players to West Loop so the game could go on.

The Yellow Team played a very energetic and spirited game, the best performance so far this year. They prevailed 2-1 on a last second goal by Emmett. And, no, our borrowed players did not throw the game. They played well with West Loop and took instruction from their coach. Our little ones are true sportsmen (women).

Game pics:

The Green Team played outdoors, though the time shift back to standard time caused the sun to be lower and slightly blinding.

The first half was scoreless and hard fought. It was mostly a defensive battle with Lukas K. as goalie keeping the ball out of the net. Goalies got changed fror the second half; but in spite of a strong start they team gave up 2 quick goals. Things settled down for awhile until Midway scored again. The team then hunkered down and Lukas K. scored a goal to bring life back into the team.

Coach Igor did an excellent job of instilling fundamentals into the players and all reponded very well to his instructions. There were numerous exciting moments and chances for more goals but alas it stayed at one and Midway scored one more time. The game ended with the Green team losing 4-1. But the positive was that a month ago they gave up 6 goals to the same team. Good work.

October 30, 2021

The rainy days came to end end in the morning and it became a beautiful day for soccer. Both the yellow team and the green team had rematches against Nazarene, this time on our home field.

First up in the late afternoon were the youngsters of the Yellow team.

The game didn't start on a good note when shortly into the game we gave up an own goal when two players were trying to clear the ball from in front of the goal and accidentally kicked it in. The game settled down after that but Nazarene scored 2 goals before Mantas scored on a pass from Emmitt. Well executed play!!

It didn't go so well after that with the half ending at 6-1 in favor of Nazarene. As the second half started Nazarene repayed the favor of an own goal for us. Unfortunately Nazarene kep scoring and we missed an opportunity when Amelia wasn't spotted wide open in front of the goal and the attempted shot went far right. The team kept the game close and only allowed one more goal ending the official time at 7-2. The both teams wanted to extend the game with an additional 15 minutes. It was fast and furious but in the end the Yellow team came up short 10-2.

Game pics:

As the sun sank low into the western sky the Green team started their match against Nazarene.

It was a strong, aggressive beginning for the team. They pushed hard on offense keeping Nazarene on their heels and Julius scored early to go up 1-0. Lukas tended the goal exceptionally well in the first half and distributed the ball well. He was helped with a strong defensive showing by Edgar.

The team pushed hard again and Augustas got the team a second goal.

Unfortunately Nazarene managed to strike one in past Lukas and the first half ended with the Green team up 2-1.

The second half was a strong defensive game from both sides with Nazarene put on an exceptional effort. As the sun set below the horizon it got darker on the playing field but at least there was no sun blinding the playersfrom the west.

Nazarene managed to scored on a penality kick caused by a foul in the penalty box. The kick was high over Ahmed's head and just made it in. No way to stop it.

The game ended with both teams making strong attacks but the defenses prevailed and the game ended in a tie at 2-2.

October 17, 2021

The long awaited home game against Mt Greenwood almost didn't happen. The Yellow team had it's game cancelled and the Green team's game was moved up to 11 AM.

The team came ready to play it's "A" game and made it happen by beating Mt. Greenwood 4-3.

Strong goal-tending by Ahmed and Lukas and terrific team work by everyone were instrumental in sealing this victory. Konrad's goal was a thing of beauty and Ervinas' strong defensive tackle to prevent a Mt. Greenwood goal were particularly significant.

Great work team!!

October 10, 2021

After a long break, the Green Team finally had another game. They played a friendly against The Midway Soccer Club at home on our own pitch.

The game started out fast paced with both teams playing aggressively; however Midway scored first putting the pressure on our young men. It took a bit of time but our team responded with a goal to level the score. Unfortunately Midway managed to put in 3 goals in a very short period of time right before the half.

With the pressure on the team put on a great effort in the second half and had some good shots on goal but were stymied by the oppossing goalie. Midway managed 2 more goals to close out the game.

Despite the score the team played well and are looking forward to their next challange so they can come away with a victory.

August 4, 2021

The Bridgeview games are over. The finals and 3rd place games have been played.

The yellow team played their best for the final game and came out victorious over IFC Estudiantes 6-1. They played an excellent team game to seal a 3rd place finish in the league.

Unfortunately the green team didn't fare as well against IFC Estudiantes losing 0 - 8. They played a very good first half but their opponents proved too much to handle. Still this was an excellent learning experience and good preparation for the fall.

Great work by our young stars to be! Go Liths, Go!

August 2, 2021

The semifinals at Bridgeviw have concluded.

The yellow team lost to West Lawn 3-1. They had a rough start and went down early; but then recovered on defense to keep the score low.

The green team faired worse to West Lawn losing 6-2. Julius provided a bright spot with both his score off a pass and a PK after a hand ball in the box by West Lawn.

July 28, 2021

So the Bridgeview league played it's last scheduled games with the green team taking a loss 5-0 against IFC Estudiantes. The effort was there but this was a good opponent who managed to put the team on its heels and disrupt their play.

The yellow team managed a tie 5-5 against West Lawn. They played well with very good passing and team work but just couldn't find the net to take a victory.

Next week are the semifinals and finals and a chance to finish off the Bridgeview season on a positive note.

July 21, 2021

Week 3 of the Bridgeview games: The yellow team lost to the Mt. Greenood Knights (all girls team) 5-1.

It was an exciting game and Amelia scored the loan goal on a beautiful play (check video at 4:42). Unfortunately Mt. Greenwood was able to get the ball into the net five times.

Video Highlights Yellow vs Mt. Greenwood (cousrtesy of Mt. Greenwood)

The yellow team played a second game(a fill-in) but came up short 6-4. Mantas played a terrific game and scored 3 times. Go Mantas!!!

The Green Team also played against a Mt.Greenwood team. It was a hard fought game but the team came up short losing 5-4.

July 14, 2021

So the week 2 games were played and the outcome for the teams flipped.

The yellow team played hard and showed how team work pays off by beating IFC Estudiantes 7 - 1. They were aggressive going after the ball and controlled the tempo of the game. Nothing better than coming back strong after a loss the previous week.

Unfortunately the green team couldn't keep up their winning ways. They played hard and well but lost their rhythm and the game to West Lawn SC 6 - 8.

The goalies played very well and showed good awaeness of wha ws happenning in front of them.

Go Liths!!

The Bridgeview League Has Started

Under ominous looking skies the Bridgeview Summer Soccer League got under way. Both our yellow team and green team were registered and excited to play some serious games.

First up was the Yellow Team and their opponent was West Lawn SC.

The game started off briskly and it didn't take long for Ameilia to find the net. Then the game settled down until West Lawn caught our goalie off guard and leveled the game. Our players came back strong but gave away another goal shortly. After a good effort the team managed to level the game but that didn't last and they gave up another one.

Spirits were still high but in the second half they only managed one more goal while giving away 3. The final score was 6 - 3 in favor of West Lawn. Showing good sportsmanship, the team congratulated West Lawn,

After a short break the Green Team met the Mt. Greenwood Knights on the big field.

The game got under way and the team scored shortly thereafter. Then scored again and again and again. The team played strong defense and constantly attacked. By the end of th first half they were up 10 - 0. The speed of our players was exceptional and they were able to go down the pitch practically unimpeded.

For the second half the team played a possession game to not embarrass their opponents. Despite slowing it down and controlling the ball, they still managed another 3 goals. The game ended at 13 - 0, a wonderfull clean sheet victory.

May 22-23, 2021

Unfortunately the over-40 team came up short in their game with Green-White losing 4 - 5. They did stage a valiant effort to come from behind in the second half ending the first down 4 - 0; but not having their regular goalie available made it difficult.

The over-48 team was plaing an even game through the first half but got overcome by their opponents, Connection, to end the game with a 1-3 loss.

Flowers were placed at the foot of the monument, a moment of silence was held and all participants ended the memorial shouting “už jūsų ir mūsų laisvę”!!! (“for your and our freedom” !!!).

May 19, 2021

The "green" team had a rematch against Inter FC and avenged their previous loss. It was a fantastic team effort!

The effort and hard work the team put in was impressive. They really showed how motivated and serious they were to cast away any doubt about their ability to face a serious challenge.

Good work! Mt. Greenwood at home is coming up, keep the momentum rolling! And come out this Saturday at 5 pm to watch Coach Linas and the rest of the "old-timers" play a home game against Green-White.

May 16, 2021

The over-48 "old-timers" beat the Wings 3-1 in a hard fought battle. The terrific goalie play of Gedas Zakarauskas kept the Wings out of the net and secured the victory for the Liths. Great work!!

Next weekend both the over 40 and over 48 teams play at home at the Lithuanian Worlf Center. Come on out and cheer the teams on. check the schedule on the "old-timers" pages for the date and time.

May 15, 2021

May 9, 2021

The season started on a positive note for the club.

The over-40 team had a victory over the Rams (4-3) in Saturdays game (5-8) and the over-48 team beat International (6-4) in the Sunday morning match.

May 5, 2021

Both our teams struggled against Inter FC. The "yellow" team couldn't find the net in spite of trying hard.

The "green" team scored but came up short in spite of a magnificient lon ball down the pitch from keeper Julius to Lulas K who gathered it in and scored! Gooooaal.

Always feels good to win a game but these are friendlies and they are useful tools to improving one's game.

Have 10 days until our "home opener" against Mt. Greenwood. Time to practice a bit harder and polish up the rough edges.

May 2, 2021

Another friendly against Nazarene United. This was the "green" team which is comprised of the older players. After a slightly disappointing start against Mt. Greenwood, the youngsters put in a very good performance. Sadly they lost but not by much. They have a tougher opponent coming up but are showing that they are ready against anyone.

Game pics here (including pregame warm-ups):

April 24, 2021

The first games have started and it turned out to be a beautiful day for them. The coaches had concerns but they were swiftly allayed by the excellent play of the youngsters.

The yellow team (our youngest players) were first up on the small field. The game was a shootout but our team hung on and beat Mt. Greenwood handily. Score? Who was counting; but it was at least a 4 goal differential. Out youngsters impressed with their ability to play as a unit and dictate the pace of the game.

The green team (our older group) played on the large field and showed their stamina with a high paced game. The team got outmatched by Mt. Greenwood; but as the game went on they settled down.

Many thanks to the great support from our parents. Their cheering helped motivate the youngsters to play at their best.

Here are the pictures from the games (click on the pic):
